Requirements Development
We start by understanding your product vision. From there, we will help you define or refine the requirements needed to achieve that vision. With our experience in systems design, we can help ensure all aspects of the product performance are considered and documented upfront.
Design Concepts and Trades
Let us research existing technologies and brainstorm some innovative solutions. We then perform trades studies to provide the right balance of technical performance, product features, cost of parts and assembly, and time to market. We present our concept renderings to you so you can understand and validate our approach.
Design Optimization
Next, we begin modeling and analyzing the design for performance. We use AutoDesk Inventor, Fusion 360, Solidworks, Nastran In-Cad, ZEMAX OpticStudio, CODEV, OpticsBuilder, MetroPro/MX, Minitab, MatLab, MathCad, and more. We perform environmental/thermal, stress, structural, dynamic, fluid, imaging, and stray light analyses.
Drawings and BOM
Lightforce prepares drawings, using GD&T for mechanical drawings and ISO10110 for optical component drawings and can provide a full BOM for your product. We work together to identify vendors, manage the purchases, and inspect incoming parts.
Integration and Test
We can provide you with detailed assembly and test plans, or perform the integration at our site. We have experience with test fixture design, testing for repeatability and accuracy, and data analysis techniques.
